Business purpose
The Austrian Integration Fund is a fund with separate legal personality whose activity is non-profit orientated and which pursues solely charitable objectives within the meaning of §§ 34 to 47 of the Federal Fiscal Code (BAO). Its declared objective is to encourage the integration of people with and without a migration background in Austria, taking into account any previous measures in foreign countries, especially where this is envisaged in federal legislation, regulations and initiatives.
Apart from people without a migration background, this work is targeted also at people with a migration background regardless of nationality, and therefore also refugees who have been granted asylum in Austria (persons entitled to asylum), persons recognised as eligible for subsidiary protection, and aliens who have been permitted not just a temporary stay on federal territory for humanitarian reasons or on the basis of the right to a respect for private and family life.
The Fund promotes the understanding and acceptance of integration among Austrian society. Therefore the Fund’s special tasks include in particular counselling, providing information and support, arranging German language tuition and furthering knowledge about the democratic order of the Republic of Austria and of the basic principles emanating from it, by means of, for example, courses in values and orientation, helping to find employment and promoting dialogue for the sake of co-existence. In realizing its tasks, the Fund acknowledges interlinking at European and international level.
As a fund under the Federal Law on Foundations and Funds 2015 (Bundes-Stiftungs- und Fondsgesetz), the Austrian Integration Fund appropriately acknowledges more sustainable and transparent company and participation management in the federal sphere and, in addition, compliance with the Federal Public Governance Codex (B-PCGK); the Corporate Governance Report (CG Report) 2018 can be found here.
