The following documents are required for the application:

• completed application form,
• Master data sheet for main locations,
• Master data sheets for any secondary locations,
• Current proof of fulfillment of the requirements according to § 1 IntG-DV, usually in the form of German course lists from the last two years,
• Proof of the institution's creditworthiness, usually through a current KSV extract,
• current extract from the commercial register/register of associations
• current extract from the association register,
• Course concepts,
• Spatial concepts,
• Sample course confirmations,
• Evidence of the qualifications of the proposed teachers as well as
• Current criminal record extracts of the decision-makers.
  The criminal record extracts are not stored by the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF). The internal ÖIF system only documents whether the check was successful or unsuccessful.

Documents for certification should be submitted via email to zertifizierung@integrationsfonds.at.

The following documents are required to renew an existing certification:

• completed application form,
• Current criminal record extracts of the decision-makers,
• current extract from the association register,
• Current proof of the institution's creditworthiness, usually by submitting a current KSV extract.
• current course concepts as well as
• Information on changes to the circumstances relevant for certification (registered office, legal basis, etc.)

The Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) monitors compliance with quality standards through unannounced evaluations and inspections. The relevant criteria for imposing conditions or potentially withdrawing certification are derived in particular from Section 16b Paragraph 4 of the Integration Act (IntG).

Possible quality defects include, for example:

• Deficiencies in the defined learning objectives
  The course content must comply with the framework curricula according to Annexes A to C of the IntG-DV.
  Example: In an A2 course, the focus is solely on achieving level A1.
  
• Deficiencies in learning methods
  The learning methods must comply with the specifications of the framework curricula according to Annexes A to C of the IntG-DV.
  Example: In a course, insufficient attention is paid to achieving the corresponding skills in the areas of listening and speaking, so that the participants can only reach the corresponding level in the areas of reading and writing.
• 
  Deficiencies in the qualifications of the teachers
  Only appropriately qualified teachers registered with the ÖIF may be employed.
  Example: Teachers are employed without having been previously reported to the ÖIF.
  
• Deficiencies in the implementation of the German courses
  Courses must take place in accordance with the reported organizational and administrative framework conditions.
  Example: Course times are repeatedly changed at short notice during an ongoing course.
  
• Deficiencies in documentation requirements
  The required course documents must be complete and accurate.
  Example: Attendance lists are missing, incomplete, or not properly signed.
  
• Deficiencies in the necessary reliability of teachers
  Teachers must adhere to the applicable legal and professional regulations.
  Example: During the courses, the teachers pass on potential exam questions to the participants.
  
• Deficiencies in the necessary reliability of the course provider
  Employees and responsible bodies of the course provider must also comply with legal and other regulations.
  Example: Refusal of evaluations by the course provider.
  
• Deficiencies in other general quality standards stipulated in the IntG-DV
  This includes all other deficiencies that are likely to negatively affect the execution of the courses (e.g. emissions).
  Example: The classroom is too small for the number of participants.

Course providers register integration courses with the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) via an electronic platform in accordance with Section 13 of the Integration Act (IntG). The courses are then visited unannounced by expert evaluators from the ÖIF. The evaluation is carried out using a standardized evaluation form, which includes both subject-specific and organizational criteria.

If a deficiency is identified, the course provider is first asked to provide a statement. This is usually followed by a further unannounced evaluation or inspection to check whether the deficiency has been rectified.

The imposition of formal requirements and the withdrawal of certification represent the strictest measures in the event of quality defects.
