Die makroökonomische Analyse beleuchtet die Auswirkungen verschiedener Migrationsformen auf Österreichs Wirtschaft.

Österreich und Europa erleben seit 2015 eine starke Zuwanderung von Asylwerber/innen. Im Verhältnis zur Bevölkerung ist die Zuwanderung in Deutschland, Österreich und Schweden besonders stark. Migration von Asylwerber/innen macht aber nur einen Teil der Migration nach Österreich aus. Alle Formen der Migration haben erhebliche Auswirkungen auf Wachstum und Beschäftigung sowie auf die öffentlichen Einnahmen und Aufwendungen in Österreich. Um  Politikmaßnahmen möglichst zielgenau auszurichten und die Migrationspolitik nachhaltig zu gestalten, müssen die wirtschaftlichen und fiskalischen Effekte unterschiedlicher Migrationsformen von Beginn an mitgedacht werden.

In der vorliegenden Analyse wurden die fiskalischen und volkswirtschaftlichen Effekte von vier unterschiedlichen Migrationsgruppen in Österreich berechnet:

  • EU15-Bürger/innen (ohne Österreich)
  • EU13-Bürger/innen (d.h. aus den neuen Mitgliedstaaten seit 2004)
  • Drittstaatsbürger/innen
  • Asylmigration
