Migration in Österreich: Gesundheitliche und ökonomische Aspekte

Durch Risikofaktoren wie hohe Arbeitslosigkeit, niedriges Bildungsniveau, Armutsgefährdung, lebensstilbezogene Risikofaktoren und geringere Gesundheitskompetenz haben Migrantinnen und Migranten einen schlechteren Gesundheitszustand als Österreicherinnen und Österreicher. Diese wissenschaftliche Studie beschäftigt sich damit, welche Risikofaktoren zu diesem Umstand beitragen und wie man dem entgegenwirken kann.

Der von der Austrian Health Academy in Zusammenarbeit mit HealthSystemIntelligence durchgeführte und vom Österreichischen Integrationsfonds beauftragte Forschungsbericht „Migration in Österreich: Gesundheitliche und ökonomische Aspekte“ wurde zwischen Dezember 2020 und April 2021 durchgeführt und nimmt eine vergleichende Analyse der sozialen und gesundheitlichen Lage, der Gesundheitskosten und der Inanspruchnahme von Gesundheitsleistungen von Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund und der österreichischen Bevölkerung vor. Als Definition von Migrationshintergrund wird die der UNECE von 2006 verwendet, nach der beide Elternteile im Ausland geboren sind. Die Studie verknüpft Daten der Inanspruchnahme von Leistungen aus den Wellen 2014 und 2019 der österreichischen Gesundheitsbefragung (ATHIS) mit Kostendaten des Gesundheitsausgabenprofils gemäß Statistik Austria.
